On this very special episode of the AniManga Podcast, we have actor/comedian/emcee/anime fan Tadao Tomomatsu on, sharing his love for the medium and telling us about one of his latest endeavors, Anime Sushi, an upcoming weekly series about anime, manga, video games, and general otaku culture.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Friday, January 4, 2013) – Debuting in Spring 2013, Anime Sushi is a weekly half-hour series about anime, manga and gaming hosted by West Coast anime icon Tadao Tomomatsu (Banzi UK, MTV’s Funniest Pranks & Practical Jokes Pt. 2) and multi-talented otaku culturalist Ella Bowen. Anime Sushi takes viewers inside the art and industry of anime and manga, as well as bringing in segment host Gabriel Olivero’s (Dual Pixels) bleeding-edge look into gaming news, reviews and rumors. The on-air talent is exceptional, and together they’ll bring fans the very best coverage of gaming, anime and manga.

In addition to the talent already booked for the show, Anime Sushi is conceived as an interactive media experience by fans for fans. The audience is encouraged to contribute its passions to the show, in segments on cosplay, original anime art, manga clubs…the possibilities are as limitless as the imagination of the community. The casting call for pilot show segment hosts at Anime Los Angeles is just the beginning of audience ownership.
"Anime Sushi embodies a fantastic blend of broadcast television and new media, enabled by the sophistication and creative savvy of the fans,” says producer Duncan Burns. “They'll be making content through media they send in, and can either become recurring hosts or simply send photos of their cool costumes, artwork and other related ideas. As much as this is about and for celebrating Otaku culture, it is created by it."
A Kickstarter campaign to fund the Anime Sushi pilot episode launches January 4th, giving fans their first chance at direct involvement. On this wonderfully colorful episode of the AniManga Podcast, we go over the series "Lupin III: The Woman Named Fujiko Mine." This show is so big though that it required more than just Jammer and I, so we invited Doctor and Foxy from the SSAA Podcast/Various Podcasts. We'll keep the episodes rolling out next week with "Interstella 5555."
